Electric Oil Lamps Warm the Modern World.
Electric Oil Lamps are quickly becoming a very popular thing to have in the home. From simple night lights that have an easy glow and a pleasant fragrance, to large stands that give a room that comfortable glow that we all love to have in a relaxing setting.
It is easy to see why these decorative lights are making the uprising that they are. It isn’t hard to imagine why people would want to capture the elegant glow that comes from these little oil lamps, while still taking advantage of the convenience of electricity.
Hundreds of years ago electric oil lamps were non-existent. Instead people actually used oil lamps that were encased in glass and candles, to light up a room. When you think about what life was like back then, you probably picture a dim room with only a little light coming from a few lit candles. This is when lighting began to get more inventive because it could stay lit in many more places than it could before.
One of the more attractive features of today’s electric oil lamps is the absence of a flame. Obviously today’s homes are at serious risk to fires and most people are not willing to light candles for very long, let alone use a lamps that is powered by a flammable liquid.
To solve this issue, manufacturers have come up with a way to have the same ambient lighting that a flame would give a room without the use of a flame. Instead, electric oil lamps have a light bulb that is built into the lamp. It shines into a glass or opaque material that glows in the light from the bulb. The oil portion of the lamp is what gives a pleasant fragrance. As the oil, or paraffin heats up from the light, it begins to give off a scent that is added to the oil or wax.
The outcome is a light source that is very pleasant and elegant in it’s appeal. There are even a few companies that have created an entire business out of manufacturing these lamps that plug directly into the wall. Another name for these little lamps is a Tart Warmer. People will buy the electric oil lamps and then order packages of oil or wax (depending on the brand) to fill the lamp. These “tarts” come in different colors and fragrances, much like incense comes in many different fragrances.
The real appeal to these lamps is the different decorative designs. They are available from different countries with designs that are indicative to the country that they are designed to be like. There are Chinese, Exotic Asian, and Modern designs and many others. You simply purchase according to your particular taste or preference.
Big dog owners, or cat owners are fond of the idea too because of the decreased risk of having anything catch on fire. One careless animal and an open flame is a sure recipe for disaster in most home, which is probably why most people simply avoid the issue all together.
As the popularity rises for these electric oil lamps, you can expect that there will be more and more variety to choose from. Right now it can be a little hard to find lamps, or burners that are unique. Rest assured you will start to see a few of your friends with these little warmers.
